zoned mattress: a mattress that varies the kind of support from the head of the bed to the foot of the bed. The variations can be made with different coil counts, foam structures, or combinations of support materials. The result is that different parts of the body get the appropriate support. There can be anywhere from three to seven different zones in a zoned mattress.
